The SML Podcast – Episode 487: E3 2019 Monster

We’ve got a monster of a show with E3 presser wrapups and a huge chunk of reviews!

The show kicks off with Pernell Vaughan joining myself and Cole to chat about the recent E3 press conferences and all of the fallout from there! From Xbox announcing their new Project Scarlett console to Square Enix hyping up the Final Fantasy VII Remake, we tackle everything we possibly can while we’re all still awake. I said it’s a monster show! All that plus reviews!

Pernell dungeon dives in a world ravaged by war and dominated by magic in Warhammer: Chaosbane from Eko Software & Bigben Interactive. Timespinner brings the time twisting action platformer to Xbox & Switch from Lunar Ray Games & Chucklefish. SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech, a roleplaying card game in a gorgeous hand-drawn world from Image & Form Games & Thunderful Publishing.

Pernell also covers Super Blood Hockey, a violent homage to retro hockey games from Loren Lemcke, Kittehface Software, and Digerati. Jacob Garner joins to race with official 2019 Championship riders in MotoGP 19 from Milestone. Tim Ekkebus joins to tackle a double dose of fighting in Guilty Gear and Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R from Arc System Works.

Finally Chris Taylor joins to check out action arcade platformer Bubsy: Paws on Fire! from Choice Provisions & Accolade. Chime Sharp is a wonderful blend of music and puzzle gameplay from Chilled Mouse. Neon Junctions is a first person puzzle platformer with the atmosphere of synthwave and 80s from 9 Eyes Game Studio & Ratalaika Games.

The show ends with the epic Secret of the Forest from The OneUps!
