The SML Podcast – Episode 525: Day and Night

Yet another biggie as we welcome Jaime Bencia and Dan Kingdom of Ridiculous Games to the show!

The show kicks off with Cole and Pernell on tap as Jaime (not pronounced Jaime) and Dan join to chat about their brand new Nintendo Switch release Day and Night! We chat about the origins of the game, the variety of blocks in the game to use or get abused by, the music and asthetic of the game, and tons more! Not to mention all the weirdness and shenanigans you expect from SML… Plus reviews!

Pernell goes on a heartfelt adventure through time in Destiny Connect: Tick-Tock Travelers from SYUPRO & NIS America before preparing a new generation of heroes as an instructor in Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III from Nihon Falcom & NIS America. Chris Taylor joins to chat about Monkey King: Hero is Back, a third person action brawler with MONSTERRRRRS from Oct Animation Studio & THQ Nordic.

Cole and I talk about Jackbox Party Pack 6 featuring five hilarious party games from Jackbox Games. MISTOVER is a “MIST-ical RPG” (their pun) with expeditions for finding the key to survival from KRAFTON Game Union. Chris checks out two SEGA AGES titles with the wacky mini-game compilation Ichidant-R and the block dropping classic puzzler Columns II both from M2 & SEGA.

Chris checks out Pixel Gladiator, defending against waves of furious creatures from Flying Islands Team & Drageus Games. Cole discusses the theme park management tycoon game with an aquatic twist in Megaquarium from Twice Circles & Auroch Digital. Finally, Cole and I chat about Sole, uncovering the secrets of a world lost in shadow in this journey from Gossamer Games.

Doing something a little different with the music this episode as we feature a track from one of my favorite bands COLD with a live performance of their song Run from HardDrive Online!
