The SML Podcast – Episode 529: The BlizzCon & Oreo Monster

It’s time for another Monster™ episode with our BlizzCon wrapup, tons of reviews, and… cookie talk?

The show kicks off with the returning Kris Huber joining myself, Cole, and Pernell to discuss all of the happenings from BlizzCon 2019! We chat about Diablo IV, the changes and mechanics, the trailers, Overwatch 2, and tons more from BlizzCon, but for some reason we also spend over 20 minutes discussing Oreo cookies and their many varieties. It’s SML, do you expect anything more?

After Kris and Cole head out, it’s review time as Chris Taylor tags in to review the four player alien blasting co-op romp Earthfall: Alien Horde from Nimble. Pernell checks out Baldur’s Gate & Baldur’s Gate II Enhanced Edition, a collection of the two timeless RPGs along with their DLC and tons of quality of life improvements from Beamdog.

George ‘norg’ Nowik joins to review Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, the latest Olympic release packed with party-games from SEGA. Chris talks Dark Devotion, a fantastic blend of Metroidvania, roguelite, and Soulslike elements from Hibernian Workshop & The Arcade Crew. Pernell reviews Spaceland, a dymanic turn based strategy game in the spirit of the old school from Tortuga Games & Ellada Games.

Chris checks out the 8-bit action adventure platformer Sydney Hunter and the Curse of the Mayan from CollectorVision Games. Pernell reviews Polyroll, a Sonic-inspired retro platformer from Spicy Gyro Games, Shiny Dolphin Games, and HOF Studios. Chris gives his long awaited review of the horror adventure Remothered: Tormented Fathers from Stormind Games & Darril Arts.

Jacob Garner joins to review Let’s Sing Country, belting along to 30 country hits thanks to Voxler & Deep Silver. Tim Ekkebus joins to give a preview of Spin Rhythm XD, spinning, tapping, flicking, and flowing through the juciest beats in the universe from Super Spin Digital. Finally, Tim checks out Spirit Roots, a stylish action adventure platformer from Fireart Games & Drageus Games.

The show ends with a killer track from Mega Beardo from the October Dwelling of Duels!
