The SML Podcast – Episode 610: Rubbing Butts & Making Static

We’ve got ourselves a whole bunch of news and a big pack of reviews, so let’s get right to it!

The show kicks off with Jacob Garner joining to chat with us about the return to school and Cole talks about all of her headaches getting her kids set up. We also cover the latest PS Plus and Games with Gold lineups, Halo Infinite rumors and speculation, tons of release dates, and Fall Guys exploding in popularity! All that plus reviews!

Jacob kicks things off with Battletoads, the tubular trio returns with an all new beat em up adventure from Dlala Studios, Xbox Game Studios, and RARE. Jacob then reviews Samurai Jack: Battle Through the Ages, becoming the greatest warrior across time in an all new adventure from Soleil & Adult Swim Games.

We all discuss New Super Lucky’s Tale, a thrilling journey through the Book of Ages in this 3D action platformer from Playful Studios. Cole’s daughter Evelyn then joins the show to check out Evergate, guiding a child-like soul on a journey through a beautiful and haunting Afterlife from Stone Lantern Games & PQube.

Surlyna writes in a review of Party Panic, an online and local party board game from Everglow Interactive. Cole checks out Road to Guangdong, a road trip journey of discovery from Just Add Oil & Excalibur Games. Surlyna also wrote in a review of the retro survival horror Outbreak: The New Nightmare, now on PS4 from Dead Drop Studios.

Cole covers Gleamlight, immersed in a beautiful, but fearsome, stained glass world from DICO & D3 Publisher. DarkMika then joins to review Manifold Garden, exploring a beautiful Escher-esque world of impossible architecture from William Chyr Studio. Finally, DarkMika reviews There Is No Game: Wrong Direction and messes everything up because of Draw Me a Pixel.

The show ends with some EarthBound goodness from bLiNd because the song was stuck in my head and that’s all I need to play it on the show.
