We start the show with plenty of news covering the August PlayStation Plus lineup, new Xbox Backward Compatibility additions, the closure of Fireforge Games after the release of Ghostbusters, and the August artists for Rock Band DLC! Plus we give out some more games because we haven’t given away enough free shit lately before moving on to Featured Games!
CJ Greenwood writes in his review of the online PVP shooter Shattered Skies from Free Reign Entertainment. Uneaten Lake send us his review of the Lemmings like zombie infection spreading puzzler Zombie Night Terror from NoClip and Gambitious Digital Entertainment. Kris and I share our thoughts on Dungeons & Dragons: Sword Coast Legends, the massive top down action RPG from Digital Extremes. Dungeon Punks from Hyper Awesome Entertainment mixes Final Fight style beat em up with Final Fantasy style RPG elements to create a fantastic brawler.
ABZÛ from Giant Squid and 505 Games is a gorgeous and immersive Journey through the ocean. Quatros Origins from God As a Cucumber puts its own unique TWIST *ducks* on the Tetris formula. Overcooked from Ghost Town Games and Team17 is a fast paced and incredibly insane kitchen “sim”. 3Souls from Red Column is a puzzle platformer that utilizes the Wii U Gamepad to its full potential.
Shiren the Wanderer: The Tower of Fortune and the Dice of Fate from Spike Chunsoft and Aksys Games is a hardcore roguelike where the grind is key and the gameplay is deeper than the dungeons. Riptide GP Renegade from Vector Unit takes the water racer to futuristic new heights. Hyper Light Drifter from Heart Machine is an old school action adventure game with gorgeous visuals and tight gameplay. Finally, Mutant Mudds: Super Challenge from Renegade Kid and Nighthawk Interactive is a brutally tough action platformer that hates you and will laugh at your pain.
